Affiliates
The Center is creating an online research Affiliates program. This program is for researchers (at any career stage—student, post-doc, faculty) seeking more opportunities for high-level discussion and collaboration. Affiliates will be part of the intellectual community of the Center, attending Zoom talks and taking part in other online Center activities such as brainstorming sessions, Slack channels, and paper workshops.
The Center will help to catalyze Affiliate research by serving as an academic “matchmaker,” grouping Affiliates into small autonomous collaboration teams—researchers across career stage with shared interests. We hope that this concentration of common research goals will kickstart innovative projects with the potential for scientific publication and social change. Team projects will have the potential for seed funding from the Center (e.g., for MTurk studies). We also hope that these online collaboration teams will help provide students with additional faculty mentorship and provide faculty with students eager to start new research projects.
Affiliates will have no formal Center duties, beyond developing their own research projects, regularly attending online Center events, and helping to select award-winners for the upcoming Center awards (e.g., best paper, best dissertation). To apply to be an Affiliate, please email a CV and a one-ish page statement to scienceofmoralunderstanding@gmail.com by November 1st. The statement should outline your research interests and your goals for being an Affiliate.

We especially encourage applications from BIPOC scholars and people from other underrepresented groups.
